Radnor’s Sam DiLella is Main Line Boys Athlete of the Week
The senior quarterback got the Red Raiders off to a 2-0 start, completing 11 of 13 passes for 285 yards and four touchdowns in the first half against Harriton. In the season opener, he threw a couple of touchdown passes to beat Chichester 24-17 – a 49-yarder to Jahmir Dixon and a 17-yard TD reception by Cameron Williams. A fine all-around athlete, DiLella also plays varsity baseball for Radnor.
Q: What do you think was the key to your performance in the Raiders’ first two games?
A: Really just settling into the pocket and trusting my blocking and my receivers down the field.
Q: You first started playing quarterback as a sophomore. How do you see your leadership role as the quarterback?
A: If I keep my head up, my brothers out there will get behind me and stay in the game no matter the situation.
Q: Tell us a little about your off-season training. What aspect of your quarterback play did you work on the most during the off-season?
A: I mostly worked on my footwork and how to escape the pocket.
