Colby Chan went 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and two run scored as the North Penn baseball team capped its Senior Day with a 4-3 SOL Continental Conference win over Pennridge Wednesday.
Kolby Barrow was 2-for-3 as the Knights (9-10, 6-6 conference) scored three runs in the bottom of the third to take a 4-1 lead then held on the seventh to earn a third straight victory.
Ray Knight gave Pennridge (5-13, 1-11) a 1-0 lead with his solo home run in the top of the first but Chan answered with his longball to even the contest. North Penn plated three in the third on a Kyle Schulze RBI sacrifice fly and RBI singles from Chan and Connor Ertel.
With two outs in the seventh, Pennridge pulled within a run after Jack Goddess stole home and Trent Fisher’s RBI single. The Rams had the tying run on second base but a groundout to the shortstop ended the comeback bid.
North Penn starting pitcher Joe Valenti earned the win, giving up one run on four hits in 5 2/3 innings. The left-hander walked one and struck out six.
