Little, a junior guard, averaged 11 points and four assists per game for the Patriots, who advanced to the PIAA 4A boys’ basketball state quarterfinals. Archbishop Carroll boys’ basketball head coach Francis Bove said, “I am so proud of how Ny’Mire has matured as a basketball player this year – from his work ethic, his positivity when times are tough, and his relentless work in the weight room. He has been a difficult guard to defend because of his added strength. This has been a fantastic season for him, and it’s because of all of the hard work he has put in.”
Q: In what area of your game do you feel you improved the most this season? What part of your game are you working on the most currently?
A: Personally, I have improved my jump shot. That’s been one of my main focuses coming into my junior year. I’m currently working on how to be a floor general, as in taking care the ball and making everyone around me better.
Q: What has been your most memorable experience as a Archbishop Carroll basketball player this season – can you share it with us?
A: Just spending time with the team, from the weight room to the floor, the bus rides to games, and also just being able to play with my brothers.
Q: Tell us a little about your start in competitive basketball. Who have been your most important basketball mentors; and what was the most important thing you learned from each of them?
A: It all started in eighth grade when I played on the Nike Circuit and I realized that summer, OK that there are players just as good and or better than me. So every time I step foot in a gym I work extra hard as if my life depends on it. My father is also one of my mentors and he pushes me to be great and every day that I’m in the gym he tells me to remember that there are players working hard just like me, but there are a few who make it to the NBA.
Q: Tell us a little about your pre-game preparation the day of a game.
A: It starts with getting up shots before we head to the bus and also just get to spots that I know I can get to in the game. Just being able to the shot down at my sweet spots.
Q: Who is your favorite basketball player, and why?
A: LeBron James, He’s a great leader on the court and he does everything as far as making everyone around him better, works extremely hard and doesn’t want anybody to outwork him. He also has a high IQ for the game and that’s an area I need to improve on so just watching him play is amazing
Q: What do you think you would like to major in at college?
A: I would like to major in architecture or engineering.
Q: You wear No. 3 for Carroll basketball – why did you pick this number – does it have any special significance to you?
A: No. 3 is significant because I’ve grew up on believing in Jesus Christ. He rose on the third day after he died for my sins, so that’s why I wear No. 3.
