Reporter Girls Basketball Roundup: Souderton clinches share of SOL Continental title
Erica Stephens scored a game-high 12 points, Curran O’Donnell added another 10 points and the Souderton girls basketball team clinched at least a share of the Suburban One League Continental Conference title with a 45-29 victory over host Central Bucks East Thursday.
Megan Bealer collected five points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals as the Indians (16-2, 9-1 conference) won their second straight. Souderton led 25-13 at halftime and by the end of the third quarter was still up a dozen at 33-21.
Emily Chmiel’s eight points paced CB East (9-9, 5-5), which had its two-game win streak snapped.
The Indians can earn a second-straight outright Continental title with a win at Pennridge Friday.
Germantown Academy 60, Episcopal Academy 29 >> Germantown Academy had no trouble keeping its Inter-Ac record perfect, racing out to a 37-12 halftime lead in cruising past Episcopal Academy.
Elle Satuffer led all scorers with 19 points as the Patriots (22-1, 8-0 league) won their fourth straight. Maddie Vizza registered 13 points while Jaye Haynes finished with 11 points.
