Main Line ice hockey wrapup: Lower Merion downs Ridley
The Lower Merion High School boys’ ice hockey team defeated Ridley, 5-2, at IceWorks 3 Monday, as Schuyler Dillon scored two goals and dished out an assist. LM’s Alex Broder scored two goals, and teammate Isaac Bredbenner tallied a goal and dished out an assist for the Aces (7-4-1). LM players Anthony LePera, Trevor Hoffman and Alex Crane each had an assist. Lower Merion goalie Justin Greenspan recorded 24 saves.
Lower Merion, which has seven seniors on its roster, will face Penncrest on Senior Night Feb. 1 at 8:40 p.m. at the Skatium.
In other Main Line high school ice hockey action:
Conestoga (boys) defeated Haverford High, 4-0, Jan. 24. The Pioneers (11-1-1) were led by Frank Konopasek (two assists, one goal), Jayden Sison (one goal, one assist), Bobby Albertson (one goal, one assist) and Tyler Kalbach (one goal). Conestoga goalie Malcolm Roeder had 23 saves.
Haverford High (boys) defeated Penncrest, 3-1, Monday at the Skatium. For the Fords (10-4-1), Daniel Morris scored twice, and teammate Daniel Mariani tallied a goal. Andrew Daly, Nathan Radadam and Jagur McClelland each dished out an assist. Ford goalie Tyler Cassidy recorded 12 saves.
Lower Merion (girls) lost to West Chester Rustin, 6-5, Jan. 25 at IceLine 4. Victoria Maloney and Margot Oxman each scored two goals for Lower Merion.
Radnor (boys) lost to Strath Haven, 7-4, Jan. 25 at IceWorks 3. Raider goals were scored by Luc VonCzoernig, Luke Winnick, Teddy Girton and Justin Green.
The Radnor girls’ team lost to West Chester East, 10-7, Jan. 25 at Center Ice 2. Mehek Thapar had a hat trick for the Raiders, and teammates Ella Kolber, Sophia Muetterties, Meredith Webb and Eleanor Adams each tallied one goal.
