Reporter Boys Basketball Roundup: Scialanca scores 1,000th point as Dock Mennonite wins 9th straight
Dock Mennonite’s Jackson Scialanca scored his 1,000th career point as he knocked down five 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 23 points as the Pioneers won their ninth straight Friday night, pulling away in the second half for a 70-46 victory over host The Christian Academy.
Scialanca collected 16 of his points in the second half as Dock (14-3, 1-0 BAL Presidents) outscored TCA 44-27 after the break. Nolan Bolton and Darius Ellis both chipped in eight points for the Pioneers.
Tehron Phillips led The Christian Academy (8-6, 7-3 BAL Constitution) with 15 points.
North Penn 89, Central Bucks East 85 (2OT) >> AJ Mitchell erupted for a game-high 37 points, including a buzzer-beating layup to force a second overtime, as North Penn put an end to a six-game by outlasting visiting Central Bucks East.
Tali McIver added 14 points for the Knights (9-9, 4-4 SOL Continental) while Rob Carangi finished with 12 points as North Penn outscored the Patriots 18-14 in the second extra session.
Nick Roggio’s 24 points led CB East (11-6, 4-5), which had a two-game win streak stopped. Leo Masteron poured in 22 points while Ben Markowitz chipped in 10 points.
Central Bucks South 51, Souderton 47 >> Souderton led 21-16 at the half but Central Bucks South took the third quarter 23-7 then held off the Indians for a SOL Continental victory.
Tommy Kupers was one of three players for South (13-4, 7-2 conference) in double figures, scoring a game-high 16 points. Ian McCaw had 11 points while Brock D’Aulerio recorded 10 points.
Andrew Vince had 10 points to pace the Indians (6-12, 3-6), which had a two-game win streak snapped. Zach Thatcher and Dom Natatle both scored nine points for Big Red.
Neumann-Goretti 65, Archbishop Wood 62 >> In a PCL matchup of teams both looking to avoid a third straight loss, the difference was Christian Ings — the Rider commit scoring 14 of his game-high 30 points in the fourth quarter as Neumann-Goretti edged host Archbishop Wood.
Wood (11-6, 6-4 league) had four players score in double figures led by Rahsool Diggins’ 22 points – 15 coming after halftime. Daeshon Shepherd finished with 13 points while both Julius Phillips and Jaylen Stinson added 12 points.
Hakim Byrd and Cameron Young each scored nine points for Neumann-Goretti (10-4, 6-2).
Jenkintown 56, Morrisville 48 >> Jenkintown has three players in double-figures – Trevor Brockwell leading the way with a game-high 14 points – as the Drakes halted a five-game losing streak.
Cade Lafferty had 12 points while Adam Giammanco added 10 points for Jenkintown (4-14, 1-9 BAL Constiution), who led 26-16 at halftime then 42-30 entering the fourth.
Tahmeer Glover and Melique Harper both scored 11 points to lead Morrisville (1-16, 1-9 BAL Presidents) with Mekhi Crooks chipping in 10 points.
