Presenting 2018 All-Main Line girls volleyball teams
The Main Line high school girls’ volleyball scene this past fall featured a solid lineup of championship teams. Archbishop Carroll (20-4) captured the PIAA District 12 4A championship, and did not lose a set in Catholic League play, going 45-0; Villa Maria Academy (21-4) won the PIAA District 1 3A title; and Academy of Notre Dame (17-2) went 8-0 in the Inter-Ac for its fifth Inter-Ac title in six years, and won the PAISAA state championship for the sixth straight year.
Other strong teams last fall included Agnes Irwin (12-5), Baldwin School (12-5), Conestoga (16-7), Harriton (10-8) and Sacred Heart (15-10).
The All-Main Line high school girls’ volleyball teams are selected by the coaches. Because Main Line Media News covers 19 high schools, the Main Line Media News sports staff limits the number of spots available to first team, second team and honorable mention — but follows the priority of coaches’ selections.
