Seifried’s triple win boosts Springfield swimmers past Ridley
Matthew Seifried won the 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle and anchored the winning 400 freestyle relay to cap a 1-2 finish and punctuate a 103-83 Springfield win over Ridley in Central League swimming Tuesday.
Brandon Decker, the winner of the 50 free, and Tom Ronayne, winner of the 100 butterfly, joined Jason Breslin on the winning relay. Logan DeConti won the 100 backstroke for the Cougars.
Ridley’s Alex Boeckx was the winner in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. Zach Anderson won the 100 free, and Ridley’s Mason Beck scored 228.50 to capture diving.
Penncrest 104, Upper Darby 82 >> Steven Woolery’s wins in the 50 free and 100 fly bookended a Kieran Clark triumph in diving to send the Lions on their way to victory.
Sean McGroary won both distance events, and Will Flounders led off the winning medley relay, then claimed the 100 back for Penncrest.
Upper Darby’s Carlo Constantine built on his performance out front of the winning 200 free relay by winning the 100 breast for the Royals.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Malvern Prep 103, Haverford School 81 >> Antonio Octaviano swept the 200 IM and 100 breast, and Brian Brennan was first in the 100 fly, but the Fords fell.
Girls Swimming
Penncrest’s A lineup came through Tuesday without any trouble.
Claire Walsh did the sprint double, Julia Colizzo won the 200 free IM and 100 back, and Madison Dickert claimed the 200 free and 100 breast to lead Penncrest to a 104-73 win over Upper Darby.
Isabelle Moscatelli won the 100 fly for Penncrest, while Samantha Woolery was tops in diving.
Ridley 98, Springfield 78 >> Grace Reagan won the 200 free and 100 breast, and Meghan Lynch’s tally of 243.80 led the way in diving for the Green Raiders. Marisela Rechner added a win in the 200 IM as the Green Raiders started out with a strong front half of the meet, and Jenna Mangano keyed a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 back.
Springfield’s Kylie Carney was victorious in the 50 free and 100 free.
