Reporter Boys Basketball Roundup: Scialanca, Dock Mennonite tops Lower Moreland in OT
Jackson Scialanca was one of three Dock Mennonite players in double figures, leading all scorers with 25 points as the Pioneers claimed a third straight victory Tuesday, besting Lower Moreland 58-53 in overtime in their Bicentennial Athletic League contest.
Ralph Saint-Fleur had 11 points while Darius Ellis added 10 points for Dock (8-3, 5-0 BAL Presidents), which outscored the Lions 12-7 in the extra period.
Andrew Finnegan scorers 16 points to lead Lower Moreland (8-2, 4-1 BAL Independence), which had its seven-game win streak snapped. Shane Cohen scored all seven of the Lions’ points in OT and finished with 15 points.
Plumstead Christian 56, Jenkintown 49 >> Drew Grow scored a game-high 20 points as Plumstead Christian built an 11-point lead after three quarters to earn a fourth straight victory in its BAL Constitution contest with Jenkintown.
Carson Curry added 18 points for the Panthers (8-2, 3-1 division), who outscored the Drakes 20-12 in the third to take a 45-34 lead into the fourth. Trevor Brockwell hit 5 3-pointers in scoring 17 points to pace Jenkintown (2-7, 0-6) while Adam Giammanco finished with 10 points.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 67, Upper Dublin 49 >> Naheem McLeod scored 17 of his game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter as Plymouth Whitemarsh pulled away after the teams traded big runs in the opening half of the SOL American Conference contest.
Upper Dublin led 21-3 after the opening eight minutes but the Colonials answered by outscoring the Cardinals 27-4 in the second quarter to lead 30-25 at halftime.
Caelin Peters had 12 points while Jason Cherry chipped in 10 points for PW (6-4, 3-2), which ended a two-game losing streak. Brian Klammer led UD (6-5, 1-4) with 16 points with Drew Stover adding 10 points.
Haverford School 54, Germantown Academy 53 >> Germantown Academy led 29-22 at halftime of the Inter-Ac matchup but Haverford School rallied to edge the Patriots and stay undefeated.
Jordan Longino paced GA (6-6, 0-2 league) with 22 points while Brian Basile hit four 3-pointers in scoring 15 points. Haverford School (14-0, 2-0) received 22 points from Jameel Brown and 16 points from Christian Ray.
