Reporter Field Hockey Roundup: Amsden’s hat trick leads Pennridge past Cheltenham
Caitlyn Amsden recorded a hat trick and also handed out an assist as the Pennridge field hockey team claimed a 6-1 Senior Night victory over Cheltenham Wednesday.
Kayla Richards collected two assists in the non-conference contest for the Rams, who have won two straight and three of their last four to end the regular season 9-9-0 (4-8-0 Suburban One League Continental).
Abby Ludlow, Macy Price and Emma Schlotter each tallied a goal for Pennridge while Emily Amsden recorded an assist.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 10, Upper Moreland 0 >> Ava Borkowski scored three goals, Kaleigh Missimer had two goals and two assists and Plymouth Whitemarsh cruised past Upper Moreland to go unbeaten in the SOL American for the third consecutive season.
Sam Spera and Autumn Luptak each had two goals for the Colonials (17-1-0, 14-0-0 conference), who capped of their regular season with a ninth straight victory.
PW’s Kennedy Reardon dished out a pair of assists. Alexis Minor added a goal with Molly Lynch and Shelley Price both picking up an assist. Sarah Trask made one save as the Colonials posted their third shutout in a row.
Conestoga 12, North Penn 2 >> North Penn could not slow down Charlotte de Vries, who compiled six goals and an assist as the Conestoga rolled to a non-league victory.
Amberly Christiasen and Jillian Lampitoc each had goal for North Penn (6-11-1, 4-7-1 SOL Continental) while Emily Crawford earned an assist. The loss was the second straight for Knights, who look to have just missed the postseason — sitting 25th in the District 1-3A rankings with 24 teams making the tournament field.
Carson Snyder collected two goals and two assists while Chloe Ziegler scored twice for the Pioneers.
Wissahickon 0, Council Rock South 0 >> Wissahickon goalkeeper Megan Reilly stopped 15 shots as the SOL non-conference contest between the Trojans and host Council Rock South finished in a scoreless draw.
Wissahickon ends the regular season 11-6-1 (9-5-0 SOL American while CR South (9-6-2, 9-1-1 SOL National) visits Neshaminy 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Archbishop Carroll 4, Archbishop Wood 0 >> Keri Daly had two goals and an assist as Archbishop Carroll scored all of its goals after halftime to earn a Philadelphia Catholic League win over Archbishop Wood.
Katie Dekovitch and Maeve Riehman both had a goal for the Patriots while Karli Dougherty collected an assist. Carroll goalie Mary Kate Kearney made one save for the shutout.
