Reporter Girls Volleyball Roundup: North Penn, Souderton, CB West earn sweeps
The North Penn girls volleyball team registered 18 aces — five each from Alycia Powers and Ali Walter — as the Knights swept Wissahickon 25-14, 25-20, 25-14 for a Suburban One League American Conference victory Wednesday.
Power also paced the NP offense with six kills while Natalie Wernley put down five kills. Morgan Patterson and Gina Moffa both added three kills. Francesca Dolan and Maddy Mejia each post three aces.
Souderton 3, Cheltenham 0 >> Maria Iervolino ended the match with seven kills, eight digs and a block as Souderton topped Cheltenham 25-3, 25-15, 25-17 for a three-set SOL Continental victory.
Maya Hanson had 17 assists, 8 aces, four kills and five digs while Bella Mazzeo made nine digs for the Indians. Jordyn Peacock chipped in four kills, a pair of digs and an ace with Erin Brady recording three kills, two blocks and a dig.
Central Bucks West 3, Truman 0 >> Amanda Mass collected six kills, six aces, two digs and a block, Mackenzie Brooks recorded four aces, four kills and three digs as Central Bucks West swept Truman 25-13, 25-9, 25-5 for a SOL National victory.
Ana Claricurzio handed out 19 assists and also had four digs and a pair of aces for the Bucks. Juliana Stumpf added three kills, three digs and three aces, Naomi Woo put down four kills, Sammy Power had three kills and a block while Maggie Winderman posted five kills, a kill and an ace.
