Reporter Girls Volleyball Roundup: Souderton claims 5-set win over Pennridge
Bella Mazzeo had 21 digs and three aces while Maya Hanson had 38 assists, seven digs, a kill and an ace as the Souderton girls volleyball team bounced back from dropping the fourth set to best Pennridge in the fifth for a 3-2 (26-28, 25-20, 25-16, 18-25, 15-10) Suburban One League American Conference win Wednesday.
Maria Iervolino collected 10 kills and two digs for the Indians with Amelia Hanson finished with 12 digs, eight kills and an ace. Erin Brady added seven kills, four blocks and three digs while Jordyn Peacock had eight kills and a dig for Big Red.
Central Bucks West 3, Neshaminy 1 >> Amanda Mass put down 17 kills and also collected five digs, two aces and a block, Mackenzie Brooks had 10 kills, 15 digs and a trio of aces and Central Bucks West edged Neshaminy in the fourth set to claim a 25-8, 25-27, 25-13, 26-24 SOL National victory.
Ana Claricurzio ended the match with 35 assists, six digs and three kills for the Bucks. Maggie Winderman posted 15 digs, six aces and two assists while Maddie Corona had five kills.
Villa Joseph Marie 3, Dock Mennonite 0 >> Dock Mennonite’s Nicole Ford and Alexis Landis had eight and seven kills, respectively, as Villa Joseph Marie swept the visiting Pioneers 25-21, 25-21, 25-21 for a non-league victory.
Cailie Ridge made 20 digs for Dock (6-4).
Lawrenceville School 3, Germantown Academy 1 >> Natalie Schildt led Germantown Academy with 31 kills, 12 digs and three aces as the Patriots won the first set before Lawrenceville claimed the next three for a 22-25, 25-21, 25-18, 26-24 non-league win.
Shannon Topley recorded 41 assists and four digs for GA (3-4, 0-1 Inter-Ac). Mackenzie Smith added seven kills, two aces and a dig, Colleen Gibbons had nine digs and three assists while Kelli Ramer chipped in five kills, three digs and a pair of aces.
