Mercury Girls Tennis Roundup: Spring-Ford sweeps Perkiomen Valley
Spring-Ford 7, Perkiomen Valley 0 >> Tori Alexander’s 6-1, 6-2 decision at first singles set the tone in the Rams’ PAC victory over the Vikings Friday.
Kathryn Alvarez and Isabel Mejia each picked up wins at respective second and third singles. The pairing of Rachel Reiniger/Casey Goldstein posted a 6-4, 6-2 win at first doubles.
Methacton 6, Phoenixville 1 >> The first-doubles team of Anna Ryu and Angie Kuang had the best individual showing for the Warriors in their PAC match with the Phantoms.
Ryu/Kuang won by a 6-1, 6-0 score. Phoenixville’s point came from Alex Rieg at third singles.
Upper Merion 6, Upper Perkiomen 1 >> The Vikings swept through the singles bracket on the way to a PAC win over the Tribe.
Maddy Gochnauer, Skyler Gionfriddo and Olivia Sharadin posted wins at first through third singles. Upper Perk’s lone win came at No. 2 doubles where Gail Kooser and Olivia Dick posted a 6-4, 6-0 decision.
Boyertown 6, Pottstown 1 >> Though understaffed again, the Trojans got a winning show from Sierra Everett in their PAC match with the Bears.
Everett won at first singles 6-1, 6-3. It was all Boyertown the rest of the way, the best individual effort a 6-1, 6-0 outing at first doubles from Jade Slaughter and Natalie Zaleski.
Hill School 5, Delco Christian 0 >> The play of Elena Zhang and Melissa Xu sparked the Blues in their non-league match with Delco Christian.
Zhang and Xu won their respective first- and second-singles duels in straight sets. Haley Wisniewski and Carla Canales added a solid outing at third doubles, winning 6-1, 6-0.
