Academy Park fights off Chi

Academy Park improved to 2-0 in Del Val League play with a 4-1 victory over Chichester.

Camille Erskine set the tone with a difficult first singles match, taking a 6-1, 7-5 win for the Knights against Deseree Naugle. The Eagles were competitive throughout. They won at least one set in every game, and in third singles, Haley Malloy beat Aasiyah Bey, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3.

In nonleague play:

Ridley 5, Sun Valley 2 >> The Green Raiders earned the win thanks to dominance in doubles play. Ridley swept all three doubles matches, with two straight-set victories. Emily La and Marisa Kennedy got the better of Jasmine La and Angelina Smith, 6-1, 6-4, while the duo of Saige Thammavong and Tyler Dath defeated Breezie Dimaio and Jaimee Higgins, 6-2, 6-2.

The first two singles matches were a different story. Devin Cronin and Maddy Koons each won in straight sets for the Vanguards.
