Reporter Girls Volleyball Roundup: Germantown Academy sweeps GMA
Natalie Schildt had 13 kills and three digs while Shannon Topley finished with 22 assists and a dig as the Germantown Academy girls volleyball team defeated Gwynedd Mercy 3-0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-22) for a non-league victory Monday.
Mackenzie Smith added six kills, four aces and two digs for the Patriots (3-1) with Kelli Ramer recording five kills, two digs and a block.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 3, Quakertown 0 >> Lily Acquaviva registered 10 kills, seven aces, four digs, Aja Smith had 11 kills, 4 digs and four aces and Plymouth Whitemarsh swept Quakertown 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 for a Suburban One League American Conference victory.
Megan Peuser posted eight kills and two digs while Sophia Repholz made 22 digs for the Colonials.
William Tennent 3, Truman 1 >> Sarah Ingham had six kills, five aces and three blocks, Riley Morgan put down eight kills and William Tennent earned a four-set SOL National victory over Truman 22-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-13.
Julia Richard and Liz Lawson finished with 11 and 8 assists, respectively, as the Panthers won their second straight. Chiara Ciccone made 13 digs while Mackenzie Clee chipped in 12 digs.
Pennsbury 3, CB West 0 >> Mackenzie Brooks finished with eight kills and six digs for Central Bucks West as the Bucks dropped their SOL National match with Pennsbury 25-14, 25-21, 25-20.
Amanda Mass had seven kills, three blocks and a pair of digs for West while Ana Claricurzio posted 24 assists, two kills and an ace.
Dock Mennonite 3, Chester Charter School for the Arts 0 >> Dock Mennonite junior Becca Brown served 24 straight points in the first set — collecting 15 aces during the run — as the Pioneers won the first-ever match between the schools 25-0, 25-9, 25-9.
Brown also had two kills and four assists. Ali Keach posted a career-high five kills, two aces and a block while Alexis Landis added five aces, four kills and four digs for Dock (5-3), which next plays in Warwick’s Warrior Classic Saturday.
