Reporter Field Hockey Roundup: Souderton rallies in 2nd half to edge North Penn
The Souderton field hockey team erased a 2-0 deficit to North Penn by scoring three times in the final nine minutes — Randi Hess with the go-ahead goal off an Anna Gwiazdzinski assist with 3:05 remaining — to stay unbeaten with a 3-2 Suburban One League Continental Conference win over the Knights Saturday.
Gwiazdzinski pulled the Indians (3-0-0, 2-0-0 conference) to within 2-1 with her tally at 8:35 assisted by Courtney Kenah. Lauren Shaughnessy tied the contest at 7:53 courtesy a Lauren Kenah assist.
North Penn (1-2-0, 0-1-0) scored both of its goals in the first half on penalty corners. Emily Crawford put the Knights up 1-0 with Kristgin Varilla doubling the advantage off a Madison Stotler assist at 8:25.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 7, Lower Merion 0 >> Sophomore Ava Borkowski finished with four goals as Plymouth Whitemarsh scored five times in the second half to pull away for a non-league victory.
Kaley Missimer had two goals and assist while Sarah Track earned her second shutout for the Colonials (2-0-0, 1-0-0 SOL American). Kennedy Reardon added a goal with Hailey Copestick collecting an assist.
