Mercury Girls Volleyball Roundup: Boyertown sweeps Quakertown
Boyertown 3, Quakertown 0 >> The Bears swept their non-league match with the Panthers by set scores of 25-19, 25-10 and 25-20.
Julia Smith had 18 digs, Olivia Hurley five kills and Emily Wolfe six aces and eight kills as Boyertown improved 4-1 on the season.
Chambersburg 3, Daniel Boone 0 >> The Blazers fell to Chambersburg in their non-league match by set scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-17.
Hailey Schinski had seven kills and five blocks for Boone (1-3), Ashley Kriebel added two kills and six digs and Ally Santos had nine digs.
Perkiomen Valley 3, Methacton 0 >> Emma Eglinton’s achievement of a personal milestone was part of the Vikings’ PAC sweep of the Warriors Friday. PV won by set scores of 27-25, 25-21 and 25-15.
Eglinton reached the 1,000-assist mark for the Vikes, who got 13 kills, two aces and two blocks from Sarah Straub. Isabel Clauhs added seven kills and 11 digs, and Liz Caruso set the tone defensively with 18 digs.
Upper Merion 3, Owen J. Roberts 0 >> Gail Tamburro and Jordyn Chambers were the statistical stars as the Vikings blanked the Wildcats in their PAC match. UM won by set scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-16.
Tamburro had six kills, one assist, two blocks and one dig while Chambers added nine assists, one block and three digs. Michelle Frank chipped in with two kills, one assist, one block and five digs; and Mikayla Johnson added seven kills.
Boyertown 3, Norristown 0 >> The Bears won in straight sets, 25-8, 25-15 and 25-17. For the Bears (2-0, 3-1), Emily Wolfe (4 aces, 8 kills and 3 blocks), Emma Ludwig (7 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks and 11 assists), Julia Smith (11 digs) and Taylor Jones (8 assist, 3 aces and 4 kills) led the way.
Perkiomen School 3, George School 0 >> Perkiomen swept its opener, 25-14, 25-13, 25-22. Henielys Ramos had nine service aces.
