Reporter Field Hockey Roundup: Greene leads Upper Dublin past Hatboro-Horsham

Lauren Greene had a hand in each of the Upper Dublin field hockey’s team first four goals — scoring twice and assisting on the other two — as the Cardinals bested Hatboro-Horsham 5-1 in their Suburban One League American Conference contest Wednesday night.

Jenn McCarry had two goals while Allie Rock also added a goal for UD (1-0-0, 1-0-0 conference). Sorrell Long scored the lone goal for the Hattters (0-2-0, 0-1-0).

Abington 4, Springfield-Montco 0 >> Abington got four goals from four different players — Abigail Thomas, Paige Doyle, Devan DiMaria and Rebecca Gable all finding the back of the cage as the Galloping Ghosts earned their first win in the SOL American opener for both.

Rebecca Berglund made 11 saves for Springfield (1-1-0, 0-1-0 conference). Abington improved to 1-1-0 (1-0-0).

Upper Moreland 1, Cheltenham 0 >>Bryanna Gordon tallied the game’s only goal at 26:50 in the first half off an assist from Claudia Zanine to give visiting Upper Moreland (1-1-0, 1-0-0 SOL American) the win. The contest was the season opener for Cheltenham (0-1-0, 0-1-0).
