OJR boys win City Championship cross country

City Championship >> Linus Blatz led Owen J. Roberts’ domination of the boys race in the traditional season-opening meet that included Pottstown, Pottsgrove and Hill School.

Blatz covered the Wildcats’ home course at Warwick Park in 11:07, edging out teammate David Brunton (11:09). Matt Muthler, Quinten Sherwood, Thomas Damian, Vince Fennell and Cole Smith took the next five spots ahead of Hill leader Tucker Dunn (eighth, 11:31) and Pottsgrove’s Brandon Henriksen (10th), with Jamie Sharp (15th) Pottstown’s top finisher.

On the girls’ side, Pottsgrove’s Naomi Hillen won in a time of 13:11, ahead of OJR’s Hannah Kopec (13:25), Cali Van Druff and Mikayla Niness (both 13:45). Olivia Tullman gave the Hill a fifth-place (13;46) effort, and Naomi Parson (30th) was Pottstown’s first finisher.
