Ridley’s Pecko posts career best, but Haverford tops Green Raiders
Ethan Pecko enjoyed a career-best performance in Ridley’s 205-216 Central League season-opening loss to Haverford at Cobb’s Creek Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.
Peco shot a 2-over par 35, his lowest score in relation to par. After bogeying the opening hole Pecko racked up six consecutive pars. Greg Damico led the Fords with a 6-over par 39, including a birdie on the 136-yard par-3 fourth hole. Andrew Damico and Riley Quartermain each registered 40s for the Fords.
Mike Whalen also had a solid outing for Ridley with a 38.
Elsewhere in the Central League:
Penncrest 214, Upper Darby 340 >> Cory Anderson’s round of 1-under par round of 36 at Springfield Country Club Tuesday paced the Lions over the Royals.
Mitch Davis shot a 43 and Steve Fuessinger, Joey Brown and Yusuf Ahmed chipped in with 45s for the Lions.
Leading the way for the Royals was Nick Liberio, who carded a 60.
Radnor 179, Marple Newtown 239 >> The Raiders’ Tyler Tornoe flourished at Radnor Valley Country Club. Tornoe finished at 1-under 34, leading a solid round for several Radnor players. David Colleran, Jack Hamilton and Blake Stephano all carded a 36. Davis Fallnery added a 37 and Luke Kelly pitched in with a 39.
