Episcopal Academy rising seniors Eric Kim and Elle Ruggiero have been selected to play for Team USA at the World Junior Championships in Tauranga, New Zealand July 18 – 24. Kim and Ruggiero are among an elite group of 12 girls and boys chosen for the team.
“Seeing my progress throughout the year finishing with the selection to this team feels great,” said Kim. “It’s always an honor to represent the U.S., and I am proud to play for something bigger than myself.”
Ruggiero said, “I am very excited to represent the U.S. as a member of the National Squash Team at the Worlds. I am fortunate to have great coaches and wonderful parents who have helped me achieve my goals in squash. I’m very much looking forward to training with both the girls and coaches on Team USA as well as playing my best and cheering on my teammates at the Worlds.”
“Being picked to represent your country is a fantastic achievement and a great honor,” said EA Co-Director of Squash J.R. Russell. “For EA to have two players representing Team USA at this summer’s World Championships is amazing and shows the rest of the community what can be done with dedication.”
