Tyson scores game-winning goal in OT as Perk Valley downs Spring-Ford
Paige Tyson scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift the Perkiomen Valley girls lacrosse team to a 17-16 win over neighboring rival Spring-Ford on Monday night in Pioneer Athletic Conference action.
Anna Koniencki led the charge with five goals while Tyson and Kat Kelley scored four times apiece for PV, which trailed 8-7 at the half. Sydney Marasco notched a hat trick while Abby Bergman had a goal and Devin Fleischmann finished with seven saves in the win.
Camryn Jones paced Spring-Ford with four goals and four assists while Cassie Marte and Michaela Haney each scored three goals apiece. Jill Quigley (two assists), Olivia Yeagle and Mackenzie Doyle each scored once.
Phoenixville 13, Pottstown 8 >> Kendall Beatty scored four goals to lead the Phantoms to a PAC Frontier Division win over the Trojans.
Kyra Trafford, Katie Sullivan and Katie Baker each registered two goals apiece as Phoenixville took a 9-3 lead into the half. Natalie Rubino, Kylie Crovetti and Mary Michaud each scored once in front of Danielle Dauphinais’ seven-save showing in goal. Ebony Reddick and Emily Iezzi accounted for hat tricks for Pottstown.
Owen J. Roberts 10, Boyertown 7 >> Eloise Gebert hit the nets for five scores during the Wildcats PAC Liberty Division win over the Bears.
Anna Dempsey followed close behind with a hat trick while Kelsey Kilgallon and Danika Swech registered solo tallies for OJR. Ashley Dierole paced Boyertown with a hat trick while Sydney Fox scored twice.
Methacton 18, Norristown 1 >> The Warriors got two goals and six assists from Jackie Cerchio in a one-sided PAC Liberty Division win.
Katy Benton (3G, 1A), Alana Cardaci (1G, 3A), Addy Borkowski (1G, 2A), Julie Byrne (1G, 2A), Lauren McDonald (2G), Stacie Rees (1G, 1A) and Mackenzie Henry (1G, 1A) had multi-point games.
Upper Perkiomen 18, Pottsgrove 4 >> Mackenzie Gebhardt and Hope Flack scored five goals apiece during the Tribe’s PAC Frontier Division rout of the Falcons.
Grace Lehman scored twice while Lauren Weeks, Erika Boyer (assist), Courtney Bauer, AiYi Young, Breanna Barndt and Megan Wismer each scored once. Alyse Thompson finished with six saves. Erin Carroll led Pottsgrove with two goals.
Pope John Paul II 18, Upper Merion 6 >> The Golden Panthers picked up a PAC Frontier Division win over the Vikings.
Allison Shuster (assist) and Francesca Lindelow paced UM with two goals apiece.
Daniel Boone 8, Conestoga Christian 7, OT >> Madi Weiss scored on an assist from Makenzie Witzel 30 seconds into overtime to give Daniel Boone a non-league victory over Conestoga Christian.
Ashley Bonetz fueled the Blazers’ attack with six goals and an assist. Weiss scored twice while Witzel had two assists. Goalie Cameron Nicoline made nine saves.
Penn Charter 11, Hill School 7 >> The Blues dropped a non-conference matchup against Penn Charter.
Bree Gorman scored four times while Hannah Delahaye scored three goals. Eileen Carmichael finished with an assist in front of Annie Carroll’s six-save showing in goal.
