Agnes Irwin crew earns first-place finishes at 3rd Manny Flick
The Agnes Irwin School’s crew team raced four boats in the 3rd Manny Flick/Horvat Series April 2 on the Schuylkill River.
Highlights of the day were the first-place performances by the JV 2x (Anisah Thomas, Nya Weems) and the Lightweight 4x (Maya Brown-Hunt, Juliana Jaskot, Perry Maner, Sydney McCarthy).
The JV 4x (Emma Bonner, Anna Cayley, Rose Lawrence, Lexi Short) finished second in their heat, just two seconds behind Conestoga, and the Varsity 2x (Sarah Yoh, Cameron Zuccarini) finished third.
“We had some last-minute line-up changes due to illnesses, but the team rose to the challenge,” said Agnes Irwin head coach Josselyn Delussey. “Our freshmen and novice rowers were disappointed that their events were cancelled due to the high water, so they will be eager to race next week and test their speed against their peers.”
