Kelly scores four to lead Perk Valley; Rapchinski, Gebhardt net eight in wins
Perkiomen Valley 11, Pennridge 7 >> Perkiomen Valley’s Kat Kelly finished with four goals, two assists, five groundballs and five draw controls to lead the Vikings past their non-league opponent to open their season. Paige Tyson added four goals with Anna Koniencki adding three for a Vikings squad that led 7-5 at the half. Maggie Sell (six groundballs) and Abby Bergman (four draw controls) were complemented by the goalkeeping of Devon Fleischmann, who finished with 10 saves.
Methacton 9, Upper Dublin 7 >> The Warriors built a three-goal lead after the first half before fending off the Cardinals in the second to pull away with a non-league victory in both teams’ season openers.
Alana Cardaci finished with four goals, a game high, with Daria Lucchesi recording a hat trick. Jackie Cerchio added two goals and three assists in the win for the Warriors while Rachel O’Toole provided a 13-save effort in net.
Upper Dublin’s Caroline Wall (one assist) and Jackie Rama each had two goals in the loss.
Pope John Paul II 18, Lower Merion 15 >> A high-scoring affair went in favor of the Golden Panthers in their non-league opener.
Monica Rapchinski led the way for PJP with a game-high eight goals while Grace Cobaugh added four goals and two assists in the win. Lauren Bello recorded a hat trick plus an assist for PJP, which also got goals from Julia McLaughlin (two) and Caroline Slattery (one). Mia Sheldon finished with three assists while Charlotte Williamson stopped eight in net.
Upper Perkiomen 13, Emmaus 9 >> Mackenzie Gebhardt scored eight goals with Hope Flack, Liz Fox and Courtney Bauer adding one as the Indians defeated their non-league opponent.
Alyse Thompson made 10 saves in the win for UP.
Paige Weaver led Emmaus with three goals.
Owen J. Roberts 19, Pottstown 3 >> Anna Dempsey finished with a game-high five goals and one assist while Eloise Gebert, Frankie Carroll and Kelsey Kilgallon each recorded hat tricks in the Wildcats’ win over the Trojans.
Rachel Sharpe finished with two goals in the win.
Ebony Reddick had all three goals for Pottstown, which finished with four shots on target.
Hill School 12, Canterbury 10 >> Hannah Delahaye scored her first career goals to lead the Hill to a non-league win in its opener. Delahaye finished with four goals while Bree Gorman added two for a Blues squad that led 9-6 at the half. Also scoring goals for the Hill were: Leah Forrest, Makena Hanson, Eileen Carmichael, Amanda Dupell, Giavanna Tabarrini and Tatumn Eccleston.
