Holy Ghost Prep boys bowling captures Bicentennial Athletic League title
BENSALEM – A season after finishing in third place in the Bicentennial Athletic League (BAL), Holy Ghost Prep captured the top prize in the BAL, winning the boys bowling title with an undefeated 12-0 record and a 44-4 accounting in league games.
“It’s the same group of guys I had last year,” said Firebirds head coach Tom Eckerle. “They just got better since last season. Almost to a man, each of my guys was at least 10 pins better than last year.”
Sparking Ghost this season was junior captain John Schrenk, who led HGP and the BAL with a 205 average. Classmate and co-captain Ryan Callahan was next with a 192 average.
Overall on the season, the ‘birds finished the season at 14-3. Ghost travels to Earl Bowl Lanes Wednesday, Feb. 15 in Earlington for the BAL Individual Bowling Tournament.
