Bochanski sets record, leads Haverford past host Ridley
Matt Bochanski set a Ridley pool record by winning the 100 breast in 1:01.22 and also won the 200 IM as Haverford claimed a 99-79 Central League win over the Green Raiders. Collin Pettit won the 200 free and 100 fly for Haverford, while Ridley’s Alex Boeckx won the 100 free.
Also in the Central League:
Strath Haven 101, Garnet Valley 79 >> Colin Brennan swept the spring events, and Will Resweber handled distance events along the way to pacing the Panthers to victory. Oliver Yancey added wins in the 200 IM and 100 breast.
Conestoga 98, Upper Darby 78 >> James Vogelsong won the 100 back, and Will Olmstead won the 100 breast for the Royals.
Penncrest 92, Marple Newtown 88 >> Kyle Langan won the 50 and 100 free, and Justin Haffner won the 200 IM and 100 breast for Penncrest.
Girls Swimming
Madison Kolessar won the 200 IM, 100 fly and anchored the victorious 200 free and 400 free relays that ultimately gave the Jags a Central League win over Strath Haven, 97.5-88.5.
Amy Townend won the 400 free for GV’s only other individual win.
Summer Martin (100 free, 200 free) and Camille Jablonski (50 free, 100 breast) won two events each for Strath Haven.
Also in the Central League:
Haverford 102, Ridley 82 >> The Fords won the last three individual events — Julia Curran in the 500, Maggie Given in the 100 back and Elsley Hazell in the 100 breast — to take control of the meet.
Gab Rudy won the 200 IM and 100 free for Ridley.
Conestoga 93, Upper Darby 75 >> Emily Lehman won the 500 free for the Royals’ only win of the night.
Penncrest 119, Marple Newtown 64 >> Claire Walsh branched out to win the 200 free and 100 back as six Lions won races.
