Carosi comes through to lift Interboro past Chester
Chrissy Carosi’s only basket of the night gave the Bucs a thrilling 37-35 victory over Chester in a Del Val League game Thursday.
Marta Waleska hit the game-tying free throw, then rebounded her own miss and found Carosi just outside the lane for the winning basket. Gina
McNamee scored a team-high 21 points for the Bucs (6-5, 1-0).
Shod’Deah Kelly poured in 24 points and Clayshonia Cogman posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers.
In another Del Val League game:
Penn Wood 59, Chichester 42 >> Carle Andrews had a big night for the Patriots (5-5, 2-0) with 24 points, six rebounds and three steals. Saleia
Matthews scored 19 points, dished seven assists and made five steals, while Khalia Gordon registered 12 points, seven steals, five rebounds and three assists.
Lauren Carrafa led the Eagles with 17 points.
In the Catholic League:
Bonner & Prendergast 69, Little Flower 26 >> Nyah Garrison (17 points), Alexis Gleason (12) and Dakota McCaughan (10 points, four assists) all scored in double figures for the Pandas (10-3). Emily Monaghan added eight points and Caroline Manfre had six points and six steals.
In nonleague action:
Germantown Academy 69, Archbishop Carroll 38 >> Bella Sorrentino had nine points and Theresa Kearney and Molly Masciantonio each added seven for the Patriots.
Villa Maria 47, Academy Park 34 >> Shantalay Hightower scored 14 points and Reilly Street tossed in 12 for the Knights (3-9), who were outscored, 24-0, in the third quarter.
