Inter-Ac
Adam Robinson | QB >> Robinson has the look of a typical Episcopal Academy quarterback. He’s strong, athletic and can run. He is transitioning from wide receiver. Robinson transferred from Sun Valley prior to his junior year. He last played quarterback for the Vanguards’ JV squad.
Adam Klein | OL/DL >> He’s a player to watch no matter what side of the ball he’s on. At 6-5, 260 Klein is a lot to handle. He’s also optimistic about the fortunes of this year’s Patriots. “We’re a little young, but we have a lot of talent here and we have great chemistry,” Klein said. “I think we can have a really good year and I think it’s all going to come together really soon.”
Mike Reilly >> All-League receiver who also stands out on defense. Dence: “He does everything but calls plays.”
Tanner Long >> All league as a sophomore and junior, currently committed to the University of Pennsylvania. Dence: “He’s one of the best linebackers I’ve coached at any level, and I coached college for 15 years.
Ed King >> Although others, in particular Jordan Berry, may get more carries than King, the senior halfback’s leadership and blocking ability make him crucial to the rushing attack.
Colin Hurlbrink >> A Lafayette College commit, Hurlbrink anchors both lines for Haverford, but his versatility on the defensive side makes him a menace. There could be as many as four new starting quarterbacks in the Inter-Ac; Hurlbrink will introduce himself in kind.
Quincy Watson, Jr., RB >> A shiftier complement to Allison, Watson can create matchup nightmares for defenses, lining up all over the offense to get in space. Also a major threat in the return game.
Ryan Betz, Sr., DT >> It would be hard to find a tackle who has a quicker first step in the area. Continuously in the backfield, Betz finds seams and is a major disruptive force from the interior.
Will Samuel, QB>> A three-sport athlete, Samuel has a prototype QB body along with a shortstop’s cannon arm. Samuel has the skill set and work ethic to develop into an outstanding quarterback.
Edward Saydee, DB >> Saydee has emerged as one of the top offensive weapons in the Inter-Ac and a solid defender in the defensive backfield. Look for Saydee to break 1,000 yards this season as well as double digit TDs on offense while making an impact on defense.
Anthony Marrone, right tackle >> The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder is getting plenty of Division I interest (Morgan State, Villanova, UConn, Temple, Wagner, Delaware among others). Knox said, “Anthony is a great run blocker with ideal size but also possesses excellent pass blocking technique. He is also a student of the game, constantly working to make himself better.”
Nick Logue, senior safety >> The 5-10, 170-pounder was the Blue Devils’ leading tackler last fall. Knox said, “Nick is a smart and tough football player with a nose for the ball. He has all the attributes that coaches look for in a player.”
