Pioneer Athletic Conference
Jerry Kapp, Athlete >> Kapp’s explosiveness and ability to elude pressure make him a dynamic threat behind center and out on the edge. He’ll be a matchup nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators.
Jake McMenamin, Lineman >> Boyertown’s line doesn’t return any Mercury All-Area selections. His presence will be key to the Bears’ success in the trenches.
Gary Knox, Fullback/Linebacker >> Knox returns to the backfield that lost leading rusher Ryan O’Toole and will look to step up on defense after the departure of Dylan Henry.
Patrick Kiely, Lineman >> Kiely returns after missing the majority of 2016 due to various injuries. Look for him to become a leader on both the offensive and defensive lines.
Izaiah Webb, Quarterback >> Webb returns after a solid junior season that had him finish with 14 touchdowns opposed to seven interceptions. He appears ready to take the next step.
Jeremiah Bynum, Defensive End >> Bynum was a force on the defensive side of the ball and his leadership will be looked upon to improve an Eagles defense that finished ninth in total yards allowed in 2016.
Dawson Stuart, Quarterback >> Stuart returns for his senior season and will be called upon once again as a leader for Wildcat offense.
Ted Bradford, Defensive Back >> The do-it-all Bradford had a good junior season and will look to be yelling “Get Some” with more interceptions this season.
Remy Sell, Wide Receiver >> Sell stood up when Jaworski went down with an injury last season and will be looked upon to produce even more this season.
Jahir Holmes, Offensive Lineman >> Holmes is an absolute monster and has been in the starting rotation since his sophomore season. He’s expected to have a big year.
Bobby Strunk, Defensive Back >> Strunk will need to show veteran leadership for a Phantoms squad that is young in the secondary.
Jon Miller, Lineman >> Recently bench-pressed over 300 pounds for the first time. He’s ready to shoulder the load along the offensive and defensive line.
Dan Cirino, Running Back >> The senior’s rushing ability mixed in with solid hands makes him a dual-threat for opposing defenses.
Jake Bildstein, defensive back >> The corner returns after finishing with five interceptions last season.
Jamal Adams, Defensive Back >> Adams returns to the Pottstown secondary and will look to lead with his high athleticism.
Tom Doyle, Offensive lineman >> If a team wants to run the ball then their offensive line needs to be top notch. Doyle will look to anchor an offensive line that graduated two starters.
Desmond Austin, Wide Receiver >> Teams will be keying in on stopping Faison after his breakout junior season. Austin’s playmaking abilities will need to come through to give Grove same balance.
Ephraim Hurt-Ramsey, Lineman >> He’s a big, big boy who clogs rushing lanes and isn’t afraid to lay the big hit. He’ll have a big impact on both sides of the ball.
Justin DeFrancesco, Athlete >> DeFrancesco returns after vying for playing time last season. He’ll get the bulk of touches after the departures of Stone Scarcelle, Matt Gibson and Selwyn Simpson.
Noah Silva, Lineman >> Silva is one of two returners on the offensive line and will look to be a leader for a crop of newcomers.
Nico Carfagno, Center >> Carfagno returns along the line and is looked upon as a leader for a youthful Vikings squad. His ability to communicate will be critical.
Tyrese Leach, Running Back >> Leach returns after rushing for a team-best 373 yards last season. Expect him to get a ton of touches.
Ryan Kendra, Wide Receiver >> Kendra returns after finishing with 749 receiving yards last season. His connection with Keyser should be fun to watch.
Tyler Whary, linebacker >> This dude can flat out hit. He announced his presence with a huge hit on Phoenixville’s Matt Garcia last season that is still shaking the turf. His penchant for the big hit is electric.
