3. Pottsgrove 27, Interboro 26 (OT)
Interboro and Pottsgrove’s clash in last season’s District 1 Class 4A title game was one to remember after the first 48 minutes couldn’t determine a champion. What happened in the extra session, however, left an indelible mark on the first year of the PIAA’s expansion to a six-class system. Down one after answering the Falcons’ touchdown to start overtime, Interboro decided to go for two to win it all. Pottsgrove defensive tackle Michael Dickey, late getting to his spot as Interboro lined up, blew through an opening in the Bucs’ line to stop running back Chris Thomas short of the goal line and cue the celebration for Pottsgrove.
