Friends’ Central point guard Antone Walker to play basketball at Wesleyan

Friends’ Central senior point guard Antone Walker will continue his academic and athletic career at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. The 5-11 point guard pledged his commitment to play basketball for the Cardinals Dec. 10 after receiving his acceptance letter in the mail.

Wesleyan is a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference, which is one of the top Division III conferences in the country for men’s basketball. The NESCAC currently has four teams in the top 25 according to D3Hoops.com.

Walker averaged 9.6 ppg and 4.2 apg during his junior season for the Phoenix (18-10 last winter) and is currently averaging 13.2 ppg and 3.9 apg in the early stages of the 2016-17 season.
