PJP’s win causes logjam atop PAC Frontier
Pope John Paul II 25, Pottsgrove 30 >> The Golden Panthers crashed the Falcons’ bid to complete a sweep of the Pioneer Athletic Conference’s Frontier Division, the victory in both teams’ regular-season finale setting up a possible three-way tie with Phoenixville.
After Pottsgrove’s Michael Neeson won the race in 18:09, PJP followed with a second by J.P. Schiele (18:19) and third by Shane McKeon (18:22). Both teams closed with 4-1 marks and must await the outcome of Thursday’s meet between the Phantoms (3-1) and Upper Merion.
Upper Perkiomen 23, Pottstown 36 >> Landon Detweiler literally ran away from the field Wednesday, winning by close to a minute in leading the Indians to victory over the Trojans in their PAC meet.
Detweiler crossed the line in 17:55, with Pottstown’s Khalif Burgess (18:49) a distant second. Upper Perk (2-3) got a third from Evan Hanney (18:59) and fifth from Gage Gardner (19:14) around Josh Gery’s fourth place (19:08) outing for the Trojans.
