Mercury-area Golf Roundup: Vance’s 3-under sends Methacton by Perk Valley

Methacton 180, Perkiomen Valley 210 >> Kyle Vance posted a round-best 3-under 32 to lead the Warriors past the Vikings in a PAC match.
Gunnar Gale followed with a 36 while Dan Rieger and Connor McCaffrey each turned in a 37. Dallen Hall led PV with a 38 followed by Andrew Giorgi at 40.
Boyertown 218, Pottsgrove 228 >> Mark Engler carded a match-low 2-over 37 to lead the Bears past the Falcons in a PAC match at Blackwood G.C.
Kyle Green and Jim Gassner followed each finishing at 44 while Zach Little (46) and Connor Fellin (47) rounded out Boyertown’s card. Cameron Mowery led Pottsgrove with a 42 followed by Wyatt Yashura at 44.
Exeter 17, Daniel Boone 7 >> Sophomore Alex Seeling shot a 4-under 41 to post a sweep in the No. 1 spot and lead the Eagles past the Blazers in a Berks Conference match at Reading Country Club (12 holes, par 45).
Faith Hughes took a 3-0 decision at the No. 2 slot where she shot a 60 while Brandon Kleinert hot a 62 to post a sweep. Ben Sjosten lost a 2-1 decision to Tanner Fitzgerald in the fourth spot.
Upper Perkiomen 219, Quakertown 222 >> Macauley Swenk shot a 42 and Brett Miller followed with a 43 as the Tribe beat Quakertown in a non-conference match at Locut Valley Golf Club (Par 36).
Calvin Suk shot a round-best 40 for Quakertown. Joe Greco shot a 44 while Anthony Boyle and Matt Sitko each finished up at 45.
Spring-Ford 190, Glen Mills 274 >> Ben Pochet shot a 3-under 33 to lead the Rams’ charge against Glen Mills during a non-conference match at Turtle Creek Golf Course.
Connor Boham, Jack Wilson and Jon Lumley followed Pochet, each finishing up at 39 while Jack Straub closed it out with a 40. Kenyun Smith led GM with a team-best 48.
Episcopal Academy 250, Hill School 259 >> The Blues hosted Episcopal Academy at Brookside Country Club in the first match of a home-home series.
The Hill seemingly earned a one-shot victory, but a scorer was disqualified after signing his scorecard despite it mistakenly reading the wrong score. Stuart Fuller paced the Blues with a match-low 37 while Charlie Musto followed with a 38.
Perkiomen School 278, Delco Christian 286 >> The Panthers beat Delco Christian in a home match at Butter Valley Golf Port.
Drew Adamczak carded a team-low 47 followed by Zach Smith at 55, Ben Griffaton (56), Christian Westrom (59) and Kyle Flagg (55).
Girls golf
Downingtown East 180, Phoenixville 185 >> Liddie McCook carded a 2-over 37 as the Cougars used their depth to down the Phantoms in PAC play at Honeybrook Golf Course.
Grace Simenson carded a team-low 38 for Phoenixville, but DTE took the next two scored with Anisha Sonti (43), Nicole Dutzman (48) and Megan Ostertag/Emily Johns (52) rounding out the scorecard.
Downingtown West 179, Methacton 190 >> Grace Hickey tied a match-best 42 with the Warriors’ Emma Lawrie as the Whippets took the PAC victory at Skippack G.C.
DT West posted three of the next four scores with Caitlin McGrinder (43), Shannon Halle (46) and Shae Cabaddy (48) rounding out the scorers. Methacton’s Sarah Rieder followed Lawrie with a 46.
