Main Line volleyball wrap-up: Baldwin downs Agnes Irwin
The Baldwin School volleyball team defeated Agnes Irwin, 3-2, Tuesday, posting scores of 25-19, 18-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-8. It is the first time the Polar Bears volleyball squad has beaten the Owls. Leading the Polar Bears were Caroline Kiser (three aces, 12 kills, six digs), Haley Tavares (12 kills, three blocks), Gabby Alston (four kills), Laura Pellicano (six aces, three digs), Evie Wasson (seven digs) and Cartier Thomas (24 assists, seven digs).

Academy of Notre Dame (5-2, 1-0) defeated Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 3-0, in its league opener, posting scores of 25-9, 25-19, 25-10. The Irish were led by Elise Butler (12 kills, five aces), Lexi Shreiner had (six kills, three aces), Allison Hendrick had (nine kills, four aces) and Emma Butler (18 assists, six aces).
Notre Dame defeated West Chester East, 3-0, Sept. 16, posting scores of 25-17, 25-14, 26-24. The Irish were led by Elise Butler (11 kills, five aces, five digs), Sara Dodds (six aces, two kills) and Lexi Shreiner (four kills, three digs, two aces).
Two days earlier Notre Dame defeated Archbishop Prendergast Bonner, 3-0, posting scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-20. The Irish were led by Molly Kieft (six aces), Allison Hendrick (eight kills), Riley Shaak (nine kills) and Emma Butler (22 assists).
Radnor defeated Harriton, 3-0, Monday, posting scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-15. The Red Raiders (6-2, 4-1) attack was led by junior Becca Goldberg (nine kills, two blocks), senior Brianna Ellis (nine kills, nine assists, five digs, four service aces, one block), junior Carleigh Goldstein (10 assists, four kills, five digs, four service aces), senior Ava Cunningham (three kills, two blocks) and sophomore Izzy Criscuolo (three kills, five service aces, one dig, one block). Sophomores Sammy Scannapieco led the defense with 10 digs and a kill, Junior Yana Flores added five digs and sophomore Erica DiCarlo had four digs and three service aces.
Three days earlier, Radnor defeated Haverford High, 3-1, posting scores of 25-21, 25-23, 24-26 and 25-15. The Red Raiders were led by senior Brianna Ellis (14 kills, 10 assists, five digs, one service ace), junior Carleigh Goldstein (nine kills, 10 assists, five digs, two service aces), sophomore Izzy Criscuolo (six kills, one ace), Grayce Henderson (four kills, four aces) and senior Ava Cunningham (four kills). Sophomores Sammy Scannapieco and Erica DiCarlo and Junior Yana Flores equally shared in the defensive effort, playing scrappy defense and digging up many of the hits that came their way.
Radnor lost to Conestoga, 3-1, Sept. 14, posting scores of 14-25, 25-22, 16-25 and 12-25. The Red Raiders (4-2, 2-1) were led by senior Brianna Ellis (12 kills, 10 assists, two digs and two blocks), Carleigh Goldstein (13 kills, 10 assists, five digs), sophomore Sammy Scannapieco (15 digs, two aces), sophomore Erica DiCarlo (10 digs) and junior Yana Flores (eight digs).
Sacred Heart defeated Nazareth Academy, 3-0, Sept. 17, posting scores of 25-8, 25-17 and 25-21. The Lions were led by Juliana Michniak (11 kills, 10 digs), Jaycee Webster (10 kills) and Norah Sanoury (nine 9 aces).
One day earlier, Sacred Heart lost to Merion Mercy 3-0, posting scores of 15-25, 12-25 and 18-25. The Lions were led by Juliana Michniak (10 kills) and Jaycee Webster (10 kills, 10 digs).
