King helps Central Bucks West best William Tennent in four
Kayla King finished with 37 assists, 25 digs, four kills and two aces as the Central Bucks West girls volleyball team earned a four-set (25-15, 26-28, 25-12, 25-20) Suburban One League National Conference victory over William Tennent Wednesday night.
Kailey Prall had 30 digs and three aces while Katie Hudson collected 11 kills, 19 digs, two blocks and an ace for the Bucks.
Souderton 3, Quakertown 0 >> Talia Wilson had 13 digs and three aces, Lauren Hamilton dished out 20 assists and Souderton started its season with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-7, 25-17) SOL Continental win over Quakertown.
Monica Miller chipped in 12 digs and four kills for the Indians (1-0, 1-0 conference).
Hatboro-Horsham 3, Cheltenham 0 >> Holly Owen put down 12 kills along with eight aces, five digs and a block at the Hatters swept Cheltenham 25-14, 25-8, 25-16 for a SOL Continental victory.
HH’s Katerina Yankanich had eight kills and seven digs with Allison Laucella contributing 11 digs and four aces.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 3, Abington 0 >> Grace Whitney had 19 digs, five kills and four blocks for Abington as the Galloping Ghosts fell in three sets (25-15, 25-12, 25-19) to PW in their SOL Continental match.
Anna Bantner added 17 assists for Abington while Grace Whitney had 19 digs, five kills and four blocks.
Gwynedd Mercy 3, St. Basil 0 >> Catherine Peel had eight of Gwynedd Mercy’s 15 aces as the Monarchs swept the Catholic Academies match 25-18, 25-15, 25-11.
Abigail Kress collected 11 kills, seven digs and two aces, Lizzy Ferguson had nine kills and Gabrielle DeLucca handed out 16 assists for GMA (2-0, 1-0 league).
