Jacob Spotts’ opener early in the second half was cancelled out when East earned a penalty less than a minute later and converted it through Alex Dove.
Pottsgrove (1-0, 2-0) keeper Liam Abdalla made seven saves as Downingtown outshot Pottsgrove 8-4.

Academy of New Church 2, Perkiomen 1 >> Academy of New Church won its season opener, 2-1, over Perkiomen Tuesday. Milo Navarro and Chakra Wade each netted goals for ANC and Xander Pendleton stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced. Miles Longstreth scored Perk’s goal.
