BOYERTOWN
Coach: Tom Koch, fourth year.
Home course: Twin Ponds Golf Club.
Last year’s record: 2-12 PAC-10, 2-12 overall.
Players to watch: Savanna Haas (Jr.), Katie Goida (Sr.), Natalie Stabilito (Jr.), Olivia Coghlan (Jr.), Emily Bradley (Sr.).
Outlook: The team returns all of its key players, and Koch thinks off-season work should result in improved individual and team scores. Haas and Goida were district qualifiers, and Haas earned second-team all-PAC- 10.
METHACTON
Coach: Chris Lloyd, third year.
Home course: Skippack Golf Course.
Last year’s record: 3-11 PAC-10, 4-12 overall.
Players to watch: Emma Lawrie (Jr.), Sarah Rieder (Sr.), Sydney Zebrowski (Sr.), Susan Schafer (Jr.), Ashley Liu (So.), Paige Aley (Sr.).
Outlook: In only its third season as a varsity sport, Methacton has good participation numbers (15) and is building the kind of depth that can compete in a tough league. Lawrie finished seventh in the conference tournament. She and Rieder qualified for districts. “Our team goal is to make the Pioneer Athletic Conference final four and to send as many players to the PAC and district tournaments as possible,” Lloyd said. “We’re looking forward to an exciting and competitive season.”
PHOENIXVILLE
Coach: Sandy Waltz, third year.
Home course: Turtle Creek Golf Course.
Last year’s record: 8-5 PAC-10, 8-5 overall.
Players to watch: Grace Simenson (Jr.), Morgan Morris (So.), Alena Carranti (Jr.), Natalie Stipa (So.), Allison Bradley (Jr.), Morgan Frampton (Fr.).
Outlook: First-team all-league player Simenson leads a deep group. Morris and Simenson were part of a late-season upset last fall of regular-season champ Hatboro-Horsham. “With a strong finish last year in the PAC-10, I feel that the Lady Phantoms are in a good position to be competitive in the league,” Waltz says. “We have some great anchors on the team as well as some talented newcomers that are enthusiastic about the sport.”
PERKIOMEN VALLEY
Coach: Karen Moliver, first year.
Home course: Gilbertsville Golf Club.
Last year’s record: 10-4 PAC-10, 10-4 overall.
Players to watch: Katie Pupillo, Alyssa Washielewski, Alex Mauer, Hayley Cooper.
Outlook: There’s a big void to be filled in the wake of losing Carly Dorminy (first-team all-conference), Mary Eyde and Jessica Rittenhouse to graduation. “PV golf will be in a rebuilding year,” says first-year coach Moliver. “We are optimistic and will be working hard to be competitive in the PAC.”
SPRING-FORD
Coach: Patricia Lebow, ninth year.
Home course: Linfield National Golf Club.
Last year’s record: 3-10 PAC-10, 3-10 overall.
Players to watch: Emily Pochet (Sr.), Sam Weidman (Sr.).
Outlook: Pochet, a second-team all-league player and district qualifier, and Weidman will guide a young team with potential. They’re capable of a taking a nice jump from last season and making a run at the playoffs.
