2016 DLN All-Area Girls Track and Field Teams
First Team
Emma Planck, Jr., Downingtown West
Planck placed third in the state in the PIAA Class AAA meet with a season-best time 4:57.16 in the 1600-meters. That came on the heels of her winning the event at the District 1 championships. Planck crossed the line first at the Ches-Mont meet in the 3200. The junior was second in the 1600 and fourth in the 800 at the Warrior Invitational in April.
Aislinn Devlin, Jr., Downingtown West
Devlin ruled the 3200 in the state, she captured the title at the PIAA meet by a whopping nine seconds. She also rolled to victory at districts. She finished second in the 1600 at Ches-Monts. The junior also finished fifth in the 300 at the Penn Relays.
Erin Zimmerman, Villa Maria
The junior won the gold medal in the javelin at the District 1 meet with a throw of 138 feet, 0 innches, a season best. She followed that up with an eighth-place finish at states. She had a stellar AACA meet, winning the javelin and finishing second in the discus and sixth in the shot put. Among the in-season meets she won were the Hurricane Classic and the Warrior Invitational. She was ninth at the Penn Relays.
Kacie Breeding, Sr., Unionville
The senior won the 1600 at Ches-Monts for the league champions in a time of 4:55.36. She stretched out to the 3200 in the districts and finished sixth, while placing seventh at states. In-season, Breeding captured the 1600 at the Warrior Invitational and was third in the 800.
Samantha Pancoast, Sr., Unionville
Pancoast helped Unionville earn the Ches-Mont team title by winning the javelin with a throw of 126-4. She was third at the districts and went on finish 14th at states. She was also 11th in the discus at the district meet.
Anna Juul, Jr., Unionville
The junior was a model of consistency in the postseason, posting podium finishes in the three 800 finals she was in. Juul won the 800 at the league meet. She was third at districts and states. She was also part of the winning 4 x 800 relay team in the Ches-Mont Championships.
Katie Dodson, Sr., Oxford
Dodson completed one of the most decorated careers by an Oxford athlete. The senior sped to victory in the 100 hurdles. She followed that up by placing second at districts. At states, she came in fifth. Dodson also notched victories in the 100 hurdles at the Whippet Invitational on April 2, and then two weeks later at the Black Knight Invitational.
Anna Willig, Sr., Great Valley
Willig was part of the winning 4 x 400 relay team at the Ches-Mont meet. She was also a member of the 4 x 800 team that finished fourth at the Penn Relays. She capture first-place in two in-season meets — the Viking Invitational and the Lower Merion Invitational.
Stacey Wolverton, Sr., Downingtown West
The senior high jumper won Ches-Monts with an effort of 5-4. She was sixth at districts and finished 13th at states. Wolverton placed in the top three at the Whippet Invitational (first), the Warrior Invitational (second) and the Unionville Invitational (third). She was 15th at the Penn Relays.
