Golden sticks: Presenting 2016 All-Main Line boys’ lacrosse

The Main Line is always a hotbed of boys’ lacrosse, and that was no different during the 2016 high school season.
Haverford School (20-5), coming off a 2015 campaign in which it was the No. 1 team in the country, went 10-0 in the InterAc and battled Culver Military Academy in the InterAc Challenge championship final to a narrow 8-7 loss. Malvern Prep (18-5 overall, 9-3 InterAc) gave the Fords their strongest league battle. Conestoga (14-7 overall, 10-2 Central League) captured the Central League title, with Haverford High (15-5 overall, 8-4 Central League) not far behind in the Central circuit. Radnor (10-9), Harriton (9-10) and Shipley (9-9) had solid seasons. Archbishop Carroll (12-5 overall, 8-3 Catholic League) was strong in the Catholic League.
The All-Main Line high school boys’ lacrosse teams are selected by the coaches. Because Main Line Media News covers 19 high schools, the Main Line Media News sports staff limits the number of sports available to first team, second team and honorable mention – but follows the priority of the coaches’ selections.
