Upper Perk falls to Bishop Shanahan in District 1-AAA opening round
The Upper Perkiomen baseball team’s foray into the District 1-AAA playoffs came to an abrupt end as the Indians fell 4-0 to Bishop Shanahan Tuesday afternoon.
Riley O’Day got the win for Shanahan after he pitched seven shutout innings. O’Day struck out five, walked four and gave up two hits.
Matt Schneider took the loss for the Indians after going 5 1/3 innings, walking four and allowing three runs.
Bishop Shanahan took the lead in the fifth, scoring two runs on two doubles. They added two more in the sixth and pounded out six hits in the win.
Elias Gabel-Tripp and Trey Livingstone had the two hits for Upper Perk.
Bishop Shanahan will face No. 2 seed Upper Moreland in the Class AAA semifinals Thursday at 4 p.m.
