Main Line baseball wrapup: Malvern Prep improves to 20-4 with win
The Malvern Prep baseball squad beat Episcopal Academy, 9-4, Thursday to improve to 20-4 (6-2 InterAc). Jimmy Kingsbury (8-0) came in relief and was the winning pitcher going 3.2 innings, striking out three and letting up no runs. Billy Corcoran finished it out, pitching two innings of shutout baseball and striking out three. Offensively for Malvern, Shane Muntz went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a double. Nick Li also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Cam Williams went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jake Mullan (one double), Sean Flynn, Tyler Pizzico, and Vince Sposato also had RBIs, and Matt Daller had two hits.
The Friars defeated Cardinal O’Hara on Wednesday, 4-1. Mason Abate was the winning pitcher for Malvern allowing just one earned run. Brent Greeley got the save. Matt Daller led the way offensively going 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Chance DiFebbo and Alex Freud each added an RBI as well. Jake Mullan had two hits including a double.

Conestoga lost to Haverford High, 1-0, Wednesday. Despite Tim Miller pitching 8.2 innings without surrendering a run, Haverford High school was able to plate a run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to earn the victory. Offensively, the Pioneers were powered by Tom Fogarty and Angus Mayock, who had two hits apiece for Stoga. Stoga moves to 10-5, 10-4 in the Central League and is tied for first place with two games to go.
