Pennsbury softball stuns Neshaminy with three in the seventh
BRISTOL BORO >> Leading Pennsbury 5-3 going into the final frame, first-place Neshaminy (12-2, 9-1) looked like it was on its way to its 10th Suburban One League (SOL) win of the season Tuesday night (May 10) at Bristol Boro Memorial Ballfield.
The Falcons failed to cooperate however, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh to win the second half of a softball doubleheader, 6-5. Bristol won the opener, getting past Truman, 5-3.
With one out in the seventh, Pennsbury got singles from second baseman Sydney Jakimowicz (2-for-4) and rightfielder Carly Parsons. When shortstop Bailee Zaccaro (3-for-3) was hit by a pitch, the Falcons (5-9, 4-6 SOL) had the sacks jammed.
Cleanup hitter Arden Rabiger delivered with an RBI single to pull Pennsbury within a run and the Falcons drew even when Parsons scored on pitcher Alyssa Hileman’s grounder to first base. A 5-5 game, freshman catcher Sierra Daley (2-for-4, 2 RBI) came through with the winning hit to plate the go-ahead run.
Trailing 1-0 in the third inning, the Lady Skins took a 2-1 lead when Sophie Beretski ripped a two-run homer that scored Olivia Zaino (3-for-4).
In the top of the fourth, Pennsbury tied the score at 2-all when Zaccaro came home on an earlier single by Daley. In the bottom of the frame, Neshaminy went back on top 3-2 when Rebecca Dixon (2-for-4), who doubled to lead off the inning, scored on a single by Alexis Watkins.
When the Skins scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth to go on top 5-3 on singles by Mackensie Compton (2-for-4), Hunter Hart and Devan Masciulli, things looked pretty solid for Neshaminy.
Then the Falcons came to bat in the top of the seventh and Hileman retired the Skins in order in the bottom of the frame, handing Neshaminy its first and only league loss of the season.

BRISTOL SCORES FOUR LATE TO GET PAST TRUMAN
BRISTOL BORO >> Cara Fabiano and Brianna Vearling combined on the pitching as Bristol remained perfect at 14-0. Maya Alicea doubled for Bristol and Desiree Franchitti stroked a game-winning, two-run single, Mary Cairns homered for Truman.

STALKER SPARKS COUNCIL ROCK NORTH
NEWTOWN >> Hanna Stalker had a day to remember by going 3-for-4 with a double and a grand slam for Council Rock North (10-3, 8-2 SOL). Stalker drove in eight runs, helping the Lady Indians past the Golden Hawks, 12-3. Nicole Rounsavill also homered for Rock North and senior Amanda Camp got the win by allowing just one earned run.
CR South fell to 8-4, 5-3 in the SOL with the loss.

CARDINAL O’HARA ESCAPES CONWELL-EGAN WITH A WIN
FAIRLESS HILLS >> The Lady Eagles (7-10) lost an 11-inning heartbreaker to Cardinal O’Hara, despite a triple by Conwell-Egan outfielder Kate Moss and three hits by catcher Tori McCoach. CEC starting pitcher Alexis Gartner threw well in defeat.

HOPEWELL VALLEY TROUNCES LAWRENCEVILLE
LAWRENCEVILLE >> When these teams met last week, L’ville took a big lead before it was wiped out by rain. It was much different this time as Hopewell Valley collected 10 hits, including three doubles by Bailee Coughlin, Jess Cianfrocca homered and Katie Vannozzio blasted a grand slam. Lawrenceville was missing its top two pitchers.
