Cervella’s clutch hit gives O’Hara win in 11th
Lexie Cervella delivered the go-ahead RBI hit in the top of the 11th inning and Breanna Hickey, Annemarie Banes and Alexia Galli made stellar defensive plays to save the day in Cardinal O’Hara’s 3-2 win over Conwell-Egan.
The Lions, who are ranked No. 1 in the latest Daily Times Super 7, improve to 13-2 overall and are tied with Archbishop Wood for first place in the Catholic League.
Emily Loomis scored on Cervella’s clutch knock in the 11th.
O’Hara pitcher Mary Pat Brough toughed it out for all 11 innings to pick up the win.

Bonner & Prendergast 5, St. Hubert 1 >> Molly McNulty spun a gem for the Pandas (8-4, 7-3), a four-hitter with five punchouts. Allison Martin had two RBIs and Kaitlyn Martin drove in a run.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Episcopal Academy 15, Germantown Academy 2 >> EA’s Reilly Wright enjoyed a productive afternoon at the plate, going 3 for 5 with two triples, three RBIs and three runs scored. Marina Rivera was a perfect 3 for 3 with two ribbies and two runs scored.
Sandy Warchol (four innings, no walks, two Ks) recorded the win from the circle.
In the Catholic Academies:
Merion Mercy 12, Sacred Heart 7 >> Maddie Schneider banged out three hits and knocked in two runs for the Lions.
In nonleague play:
Christian Academy 2, Tome (Md.) 1 >> Grace Gormley’s RBI triple in the third inning proved to be the difference for the Crusaders, who won their 12th in a row. Lindsay Haseltine blasted a leadoff homer in the first and winning pitcher Carly Ryle allowed only five hits while striking out seven.
Interboro 8, Marple Newtown 3 >> In Game 1 of a doubleheader for the Bucs, Bridget Bailey pitched a complete game with six Ks and was 3 for 3 at the plate. Barb Carosi and Amanda Suydam each supplied two hits and two RBIs.
In the Del Val League:
Interboro 14, Academy Park 0 >> Amber Seamen belted a two-run homer, Brittany Tinkerton tripled in a pair of runs and Rachel Reifer pitched a complete-game one-hitter with 11 Ks.
