Mercury Area Softball Roundup: Boyertown walks off against Methacton; PV tops Pottsgrove

Lauren Waller went 2-for-4 and drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh, crushing a triple to score Sarah Reinert for a 4-3 victory over Methacton.

The win puts Boyertown (7-5 PAC-10) 1/2 game back of the Warriors for the final Final Four playoff spot with six games remaining. (PAC-10 STANDINGS)

Reinert finished the game 2-for-4 with an RBI while Kodi Streeter went 2-for-4 with two singles. Alyssa Acker went 2-for-3 with two singles and one run scored.

Mandy Kalil got the win in the circle, Megan Stauffer the loss.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 4, POTTSGROVE 2 >> Noelle McCullough finished with a game-high three hits including a double while Haley Streeper and Ana Bruni contributed two hits apiece as the Vikings topped the Falcons in a potential playoff preview.

Emily Oltman got the win in the circle, scattering five hits while allowing two runs (one earned) and striking out five.

Kira Livezey led Pottsgrove with two hits and one run scored. Jenna Trythall allowed three earned in her six innings of work in the circle.

SPRING-FORD 7, PHOENIXVILLE 3 >> The Rams set the tone for their PAC-10 victory over the Phantoms by scoring five times in their first at-bat.

Sophia Cinti and Sam Lindsay each went 2-for-4 and drove in pairs of runs to spark Spring-Ford’s 16-hit offense, which added another pair of runs in the fourth to support Lindsay’s complete-game pitching. Phoenixville’s runs were driven in by Jess Eldridge, Lainey Michaud and Emily Buckwalter.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 6, UPPER PERKIOMEN 1 >> The Wildcats continued their playoff push with a victory over the Indians.

Alissa Vining pitched seven innings, allowing four hits and striking out seven in picking up the win. Vining also helped herself out at the dish, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Emily Jackson finished with two RBI in the win with Brianna Smith (two hits) and Casey Walker (two runs) each contributing big offensively.

Upper Perk received hits from Sarah Heidler, Olivia Young, Emily Moll and Karlee Fretz.

POPE JOHN PAUL II 22, POTTSTOWN 7 >> Ashley Remington swung the big bat for the Golden Panthers as she knocked in eight RBI, including a grand slam home run, as PJP took the win in PAC-10 play.

Alyssa Schwab and Amanda Butera finished with three hits apiece. Gabby Simms, Grace Harvey, Hope Robinson, Allison Toth (two doubles) and Alex Szpindor each finished with two hits.

Madison Dunn got the win in the circle for PJP.

Gianna Epps homered for Pottstown with Kat Kincade and Alivia Lopez contributing two hits.

PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 19, MERCY VOCATIONAL 1 >> Amelia Dormer (five) and Abby Glavin combined to drive in nine runs as the Panthers used a 10-run fourth to bring the mercy rule into effect against Mercy Vocational.

Dormer swung Perkiomen’s hottest bat, going 5-for-5 with a triple and scoring four times. Glavin followed with a 3-for-3 (double) and two runs scored while Gabby Molnar (3-for-3, two RBI) and Lena Felix (3-for-4) had other multi-hit efforts.
