Mercury Area Softball Roundup: Lindsay helps out her cause as Spring-Ford tops Upper Perk
Spring-Ford 7, Upper Perkiomen 1 >> Sam Lindsay pitched all seven innings and knocked in two runs at the plate as the Rams got the better of the Tribe’s Taylor Lindsay in PAC-10 action.
Sam scattered eight hits across the afternoon, limiting UP to just one run while striking out two and walking one. She also finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a triple. Taylor went all seven innings, where she was touched for seven runs on eight hits and four walks. Keira Walton (two hits, RBI) and Megan Kern (RBI, run scored) each posted triples for Spring-Ford in the win.
Perkiomen School 14, Westtown 0 >> The Panthers scored eight runs in the top of the sixth inning to capture a non-conference win over the Moose.
Juliane Haussmann pitched all six innings where she struck out 10 and held Westtown to three hits and six walks. At the plate, Abby Glavin was 4-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and four stolen bags as Perk piled up 16 hits and 23 stolen bases. Gabby Molnar was 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
