Carter’s four wins fuel Chester sweep

Makayla Carter showed off her versatility as Chester downed Chichester, 107-22, and Academy Park, 108-23, in Del Val League girls track action Tuesday.

Carter won both hurdles events and also was first in the triple and high jumps. Teammate Danayzah Fitzgerald was first in the 200 and 400 and anchored the 4 x 400-meter relay team to victory. Keiasia Kennard (1,600, 4 x 800, 4 x 400) also was a triple winner for the Clippers (3-1).

Nierra Berry won the 100 and long jump for Chichester, which fell to Academy Park, 53-48.

Penn Wood 102, Interboro 37 >> Janae Pitt, Elicia Moore, Terri Turner and Agnes Mansaray all were triple winners for the Patriots.

Pitt won both hurdles and the triple jump. Moore was first in the 100 and 200, and led off the winning 4 x 400 relay. Turner captured the 400 and 3,200 and led off the winning 4 x 800. Mansaray won the 800 and 1,600 and was on the 4 x 400.

Benedicta Ameyaw finished first in the discus and javelin to lead Interboro.
