Agnes Irwin, Harriton lacrosse teams victorious
The Agnes Irwin School lacrosse team took down New England powerhouse Lincoln-Sudbury (Mass.) 15-4 in a non-league game Tuesday. The loss was the first of the season for Lincoln-Sudbury, ranked No. 4 in Massachusetts by Lax Power. The Owls (7-4, 3-1) were led by strong team defense from Emily Fryer, Kate White, Maria Pansini, Sarah Platt, Emma Macaione, Meredith Murphy, and Brynn Smith, causing eight turnovers and limiting the Warriors to just two goals in each half. Hailey Andress was solid in goal, with six saves, a caused turn over and an interception.
The Harriton High School girls’ lacrosse team rallied from a second-half deficit to defeat Ridley, 9-7, Tuesday. Leading the way for the Rams were Molly McDonough (two goals, two caused turnovers), Claudia Conrad (one assist), Allison Schwab (one goal), Alex Ladda (two goals, two assists, two draw controls), Laura Lasprogata (three goals, one assist, three draw controls), Greta Stahl (one goal, two assists, two draw controls, two caused turnovers), Haley Morris (three draw controls, four ground balls) and Devin McClain (six saves).
The Harriton boys’ lacrosse team also defeated Ridley, 7-6, Tuesday. Leaders for the Rams included Hakan Atillasoy (three goals), Justin Kruszewski (three goals), Will Stahl (one goal), Brysen McMullin (one assist) and Ian Walsh (11 saves). Patrick Stewart had three assists and Justin Kruszewski scored the Rams’ last two goals.
