Hummel’s 100th career goal leads Interboro to win
Chris Hummel collected five goals to go with three assists, registering his 100th career goal as the Interboro topped Phoenixville, 17-3, in a nonleague boys lacrosse game Tuesday.
Nate Murtha tallied four goals and an assist, Michael Porreca notched a hat trick to go with two assists and Jimmy Moorhead (two goals, two assists) and Jake Pfaff (one goal, three assists) accounted for four points apiece for the Bucs (3-5).
In the Central League:
Garnet Valley 14, Haverford 8 >> Matt Moore collected six goals and two assists, and Denny Nealon added four goals and a pair of helpers as the Jags (4-2, 3-0) stayed unbeaten in the league.
Bobby McClure scored three goals to go with three assists, and Billy Farrell and Jack Daly scored twice each for the Fords (5-1, 2-1) in their first setback of the season.
Penncrest 4, Springfield 3 >> Alex Bonnett scored two goals and an assist, notching the game-winning goal with 6:32 to play in the game. T.J. Sims and Max Daugherty also scored for Penncrest (4-1, 2-1), which got 13 saves from Steve Nolan.
Mike Gerzabek scored twice, and James Spence made 10 saves for Springfield (1-5, 0-3).
In the Inter-Ac League:
Haverford School 10, Malvern Prep 9 >> Tommy McNamara’s second goal of the game came with 3.9 seconds left to help the Fords to a 5-0 edge in the fourth-quarter in a tremendous comeback.
Brendan O’Neill accounted for two goals and two assists, while Dox Aitken and Keyveat Postell scored twice each for the Fords (6-3, 1-0).
Episcopal Academy 10, Penn Charter 2 >> Connor Ringwalt and Dan Baker scored twice each, Ringwalt adding a helper, and CJ McAnally paired a goal with two assists as the Churchmen (1-6, 1-0) got their first win. Jake Floyd Jones made nine saves.
