Strath Haven’s Hammitt falls in Central League final

Xandy Hammitt took care of business against Radnor’s Will Frigerio in an All-Delco battle in the Central League semis, but the final was a bridge too far for the Strath Haven senior in a 6-4, 6-2 loss to Lower Merion’s Matt Chen in Saturday’s Central League singles tournament at the HealthPlex.

Hammitt took care of Frigerio, 6-2, 6-3 in the semis, but the Raider recovered to take the third-place match over Conestoga’s Nick Ruth, 6-4, 6-2.

Frigerio’s teammate Josh Taylor booked the fifth and final place in the District One Tournament, topping Upper Darby’s Brandon Caban, 6-4, 6-3, in the fifth-place match.
