Kinnard sparks Penncrest win
Ryan Kinnard’s four-goal effort ignited the Penncrest attack, as the Lions opened Central League play Tuesday with an 8-5 victory over Harriton.
Alex Bonnett produced two goals and a pair of assists in keeping Penncrest (3-0) undefeated on the young season.

Ridley 15, Upper Darby 3 >> Cade Stratton (5 goals, 1 assist) and Brock Anderson (4 goals, 3 assists) picked apart the Royals’ defense as the Green Raiders (5-1, 1-0) stormed out to a 12-1 halftime lead. Upper Darby goalie Vince McGinnis finished with 17 saves.
Strath Haven 7, Springfield 5 >> Wil Bozentka scored twice and Jack Borbee produced a goal and four assists to lead a balanced attack, and goalie Will Brake (six saves) posted a scoreless fourth quarter to allow the Panthers to pull out the road win. Mike Gerzabek had a hat trick and James Spence stopped 11 shots for Springfield.
Haverford High 16, Marple Newtown 9 >> Kevin Kaufman pumped in seven goals and Bobby McClure came through with four goals and four assists to power the Fords. Tyler Kostack registered two goals and a pair of assists for the Tigers, who also received two goals apiece from Alex Viola and Christian Xitas.
In a nonleague match:
Haverford School 14, St. Joseph’s Prep 10 >> Forry Smith led the way with five goals and two assists, Dox Aitken also scored five times and Keyveat Postell contributed two goals and four assists, enabling the Fords to withstand the Hawks’ second-half comeback.
